These pictures illustrate spatial and temporal viral spread among water fowl. I had to create it quickly and used a combination of Modo and photoshop to get the effect. The water and “green” effect was created with Modo. Also the shapes of the birds was roughed in with a duck shape that I fortunately had from a previous project. Painting in Modo kind of sucks so I output a high res picture and painted the ducks in photoshop. Turned out pretty realistic looking!
Here’s my second painting of Charleston so far. I’m experimenting with a red ground but so far not convinced it’s for me. I think by the time I’m done (hopefully today) so little ground will show through that all that expensive red paint I put on the canvas will just be wasted. Might as well let it remain gesso white and then add in red (or whatever color) accents at the end. Anyway it was worth a try.
